It was around a year and a half of work, but I finally finished the base art for #1 of Aces! I'm excited to finish coloring the pages and share them with all of you. Now, that being said, I'm presented with a decision. Will I continue on and work on #2 of Aces, or will I start working on a full-length graphic novel? I have many of the latter planned, and I'm going to have to take a break from Aces at some point to write them, seeing how long Aces is going to run. I'll be putting up a poll in the comics area for it I think, and I'll probably offer a few options, such as being able to vote for certain graphic novels if you so desire. Or if you just want to be surprised by which I would choose to do you'll be able to just vote for Graphic Novel.
Also, sorry for the overwhelming amount of text on the new page--it's a little crazy, but that entire page was meant for explanations which had to be written out. Great storywriting, I know. Don't worry--I know more of what I'm doing now, so the next project I start on should be excellent. Hopefully. Maybe just kinda better. Anyways. That's about all for now I think, so I suppose I'll be signing out! See you later, crocodile. -Lissie Dixon ♠

As you probably know, I've been managing to put out a page of Aces #1 every Saturday for the past...17 weeks, I believe. That has now changed due to a suggestion from a friend and also my realization that the quality of the comic suffers every time I have a busy week, which, lately, seems to be quite frequently. This week's page is a good example of that. I also received a graphics tablet on the 5th (!!!), and since I will be learning how to use that and adjusting to coloring the comic with it, will need a bit of time to learn. Hopefully this will mean I can make better looking pages faster. Until I can handle releasing a page every week, I will be putting one page out every two weeks, going into effect after today's page, so there won't be a one next week. If I can speed up production I might be able to go back to a weekly page.
I'm sorry to do this on such a short notice, but since the comic is a hobby and not a profession (and since I'm still a minor living in my parents' home and I have chores...haha), I can't work on it every day. If I could, you'd have full issues every month I bet--or at least half issues. Until that becomes possible, we'll have to work around my life outside of being a comic writer/artist/colorist/letterer/editor. Thank you for bearing with me and reading the comic! If you have any questions or comments, feel free leave them down below or send them in through the contact tab! I'd love to hear them. Thank you for your time! -Lissie Dixon ♠ |
