As you probably know, we're reaching the end of Aces #1. I believe I might have the two final pages ready to release THIS Saturday, actually! That's good news, huh? Then I can continue working on fixing the older pages. I'll be ready to start on Tangerine Target soon also! Probably by July, I want to say. I'm hoping to release TT in short chapter-like pieces, but that also means I'll take a bit longer. Would you guys like a vote on that? I dunno what I'll do. Either I'll do a page or so a week or I'll have a short chapter whenever I can. Unfortunately I'm a bit displaced at the moment so work on fixing Aces is going slower than I'd like. My sister and niece were going to be visiting for just a week, but now they'll be staying quite a bit longer. There was a bit of a car accident and my sister has to stay here until the car is repaired and all the insurance and various paperwork is done. I've been able to work at night though, and I'm making good headway on recoloring Aces. c:
That's all for now--see you soon!
It was around a year and a half of work, but I finally finished the base art for #1 of Aces! I'm excited to finish coloring the pages and share them with all of you. Now, that being said, I'm presented with a decision. Will I continue on and work on #2 of Aces, or will I start working on a full-length graphic novel? I have many of the latter planned, and I'm going to have to take a break from Aces at some point to write them, seeing how long Aces is going to run. I'll be putting up a poll in the comics area for it I think, and I'll probably offer a few options, such as being able to vote for certain graphic novels if you so desire. Or if you just want to be surprised by which I would choose to do you'll be able to just vote for Graphic Novel.
Also, sorry for the overwhelming amount of text on the new page--it's a little crazy, but that entire page was meant for explanations which had to be written out. Great storywriting, I know. Don't worry--I know more of what I'm doing now, so the next project I start on should be excellent. Hopefully. Maybe just kinda better.
Anyways. That's about all for now I think, so I suppose I'll be signing out!
See you later, crocodile.

As you probably know, I've been managing to put out a page of Aces #1 every Saturday for the past...17 weeks, I believe. That has now changed due to a suggestion from a friend and also my realization that the quality of the comic suffers every time I have a busy week, which, lately, seems to be quite frequently. This week's page is a good example of that. I also received a graphics tablet on the 5th (!!!), and since I will be learning how to use that and adjusting to coloring the comic with it, will need a bit of time to learn. Hopefully this will mean I can make better looking pages faster. Until I can handle releasing a page every week, I will be putting one page out every two weeks, going into effect after today's page, so there won't be a one next week. If I can speed up production I might be able to go back to a weekly page.
I'm sorry to do this on such a short notice, but since the comic is a hobby and not a profession (and since I'm still a minor living in my parents' home and I have chores...haha), I can't work on it every day. If I could, you'd have full issues every month I bet--or at least half issues. Until that becomes possible, we'll have to work around my life outside of being a comic writer/artist/colorist/letterer/editor.
Thank you for bearing with me and reading the comic! If you have any questions or comments, feel free leave them down below or send them in through the contact tab! I'd love to hear them.
Thank you for your time!

There have been rainy days and stormy nights nonstop here, which I'm less than thrilled about...but it's alright. April showers, you know the phrase. The rain isn't so bad though--we got to see a lovely little salamander because of it. He/she came into the basement one night and startled my mother terribly. It's all good though.
So, if you're on the site looking for the page of Aces the morning of Saturday, April 8th, it's not there, now is it? That's because I didn't have as much time to work on it as I wanted...since I was frantically scrabbling to get ready for an art walk! To be honest I don't know if those are a normal thing or what, so...if you've never heard of one, I wouldn't be surprised. I only heard about it because I somehow wound up participating...anyway, my family and I (along with some other folks) were going to have a booth thing set up with a bunch of framed pieces of art and photography, so I had to get enough pieces done for that to actually be true. I was stressed out of my head about it, actually. So yeah, that's where I've been, and since the art walk is actually TODAY (Saturday, the 8th), I'll be gone for a few hours to help there. I did most of the coloring on the page...Friday night. I promise I'll get the page up today, but it might be later on. Hopefully my schedule will clear out soon and I'll have more time to work up a buffer and get #1 of Aces all done and released.
That's all for now--see you all soon!

I promise I'm trying to get all of those things I said I would put on the site back when I started it done! I'm just so swamped. e_e On the bright side, it's fairly positive stuff. I haven't made a blog post to keep you guys up to date in a month though! Whoopsies. Anyway, onto the quick updates about my life! (Haha)
• I have a baby nephew now ♥
• I've been having awesome dreams that are probably going to become graphic novels someday (hopefully soonish)
• I got some quick facts sheets up as placeholders for future profiles on the Aces page
• I feel like my art has improved a little bit lately
• I ordered a set of art markers that should arrive some time in April
• I figured out the missing ruler situation--didn't find the little one, so I'm using a piece of plastic from...iPod packaging
• I got to help with a local Scholastic Bowl on the 18th, and I don't know how to briefly explain how that was
• I'll hopefully be updating the website on Saturday, March 25th (I'm writing this on the night of the 24th), including adding more recent artwork, updates to the doll/action figure blog, and anything else I can get done!
So...that's about it, I think! I might make another post here after the updates, but who knows. I might not have time. I might be about to start a time-crunch project that takes up pretty much the entire week. I'm looking forward to it though.
Also, I'd love to see more of what you guys and gals have been up to! Have you written a story? Drawn something you really like? Heard a song that's your new favorite? Did your pet do something that made you laugh? Anything! Let me know! Feel free to either comment about it or email in! ( Godsentcomics@gmail.com ) I always love talking. I'm quite the chatterbox, actually...which...you probably already know...and I think that that kind of thing would be mutually enjoyable. c:
And there we are! Some of my life updates, invitations to share some of your life with me, and randomness! Talk to you all soon, and have a wonderful day ♥

I hope everyone is having a nice week thus far! I'm a bit worn out to be honest, but I probably need to stop pulling late nights to work. One of those late nights enabled me to finish the new and improved Aces #1 cover though, so at least I'm doing stuff with that extra time! c: I've replaced the old Aces cover with the new one. If you see any issues or things you think could be improved, let me know, please!
I also added the Special Thanks page, which wound up being a lot longer than I thought it would be. I guess I have a lot of people to be thankful for! The aliases were fun. I hope everyone knows who they are...haha. I didn't ask people if I could use their actual names, so I decided to use aliases for most. It's just me being a little genius :P
I'm falling so far behind this week. e_e I need to work all day to get the page done. Aggghh! I'm having a hard time keeping up. I might need to take a week off in a month or two to try and catch up. I need to locate my 6 inch ruler so I can keep working on the inking. I've almost come up even with the pages I've got done. I can use 12 inch rulers, but I prefer using my small transparent one. Meh. I don't think it's actually in my room. Maybe I can make an impromptu ruler.
That's all for now guys, but I'll see you tomorrow!
-Lissie Dixon ♠
Me. I'm sick again, if you didn't guess it.
Fun times. At least I was able to finish this week's page for Aces before I went down hard. From what I gather, my brain will probably stop working in the next day or two...at least, that's how my sister explains it. And my mom. Anyways, tomorrow I'll have to fight the urge to snuggle in bed with the laptop and go into the basement instead to scan the next page or two. It's best to get those ready for coloring as soon as possible. As you've probably guessed, I have yet to build any kind of buffer, mostly due to the fact that I've been sick twice this year already and have been juggling projects like a circus act. (By the way, I was trying to see if there were any synonyms for juggler I could use there (because I was having a mind blank), but according to Thesaurus.com the only synonyms for it are enchanter, mage, shaman, warlock, wizard, sear, sorcerer and witch. Um, yes, I'm positive those are all what I was looking for. Not. On the side in small font they have this thing that reads:
Anyways, I'm kind of working on a super secret project I can't tell you guys about in detail yet. I might announce it if I ever get a set of gray Copics, since that's kind of instrumental to it. '-' Unfortunately the gray Copic marker sets are some of the hardest to find for a decent price. I would like to get them from Dick Blick's website, but they aren't in stock last I checked.
On a different note, I'm considering cleaning my room. Shocking. I actually had it pretty clean recently, but then I got sick, had a week where I was doing something non-stop from getting up to going to bed, and through all that I kind of messed it up again. Very badly. There's like..four pairs of pants down there...and two or three stacks of papers/folders/sketchbooks...some books...yarn...purse...bag of beads, felt and some batteries...? Seriously, how did some of this stuff wind up there? Anyway, the point is, I need to clean my room. And once I've got my floor clean again, I can set to recovering my desk from under the Christmas presents and baubles I've stacked on it over the last couple months. It'd be nice to be able to use that desk again. All depends on how I feel tomorrow though, and if I'm not well I probably won't do anything with it for a while yet. I need to take my sister up on her offer of helping me sort my papers.
Well, I've been in a rambling mood tonight, but I'm going to stop myself here. I'm actually writing this up Friday night, though it won't be published until some time Saturday morning. Whenever I schedule the post.
Good night/day, and have a fabulous (insert current time here). And enjoy this week's page of Aces. I didn't put as much work into the coloring in places as I should have, but whateverrrrr...later!
-Lissie Dixon ♠
I thought I'd put something up on the blog since then, but apparently not. Sorry, guys! Well, as you can guess, that turned out alright.
So, it other (More current) news, Aces has reached its 5th page!I'm happy about that. The story is very rushed still though, and I don't like that. I didn't pace it well. The pacing improves a bit further into the first issue, but man, have I learned a lot since I wrote it! #2 is going to be much, much better. Trust me.
I hope you guys noticed the little "About" section I added for the characters. It's fun to make, but also a little challenging. I'm apparently not good at writing short descriptions for my characters. Whoops. Anyways, I hope you guys like the profiles! I spent quite a while on the illustrations for them...and I need to put up another profile today or tomorrow, actually. Maybe soon I'll swing into doing more tutorials too, because I really miss those, and I bet you guys do too! I felt like I was actually getting a hang of those, then I stopped making them. :c
I'll be busy these next few days, but I'll still be working on content for the site! I need to update the Artwork area to include an "Artwork from Fans" category/gallery still too, and after that I'll add some of my own art to my personal gallery on here. I've done some alright stuff since the beginning of the year. I'd like to share it with you. Also, when I put that Artwork from Fans gallery up, send me your artwork! It doesn't have to be art of my characters or anything like that! I just want to put up stuff you guys have drawn! I feel like that would be mutually enjoyable.
Well, I'd best be getting off. There are things to do, you know! Like getting to work on lettering and coloring next week's page of Aces! I'm on a roll here, and I don't plan on breaking it any time soon!
-Lissie Dixon ♠
Reason being that we're going to have some rough weather--just like the rest of that band of purple and pink. Oh, that's ice by the way. Ice. See that?
I didn't want to be late the second week of publishing Aces, so I decided the best thing to do at this point would be to put it up a day early! I had it done and all, so why not?
Hopefully anyone in the ice band with us is holding out alright, and has power and heating. Pretty wild, eh? Kinda like a huge blizzard we had last year around this time, except more ice...
I'm putting this up out of pure anxiety, by the way. I'm updating my site and drawing and stuff to keep my mind off the weather. I get anxious when it comes to weather sometimes. Okay, a lot. A gust of wind or a splash of rain and I dash down to hide in the basement. I think it was something about us having a lot of very bad weather when I was young.
Anyway, I have an art request I need to draw. See you guys later! ♥
-Lissie Dixon ♠
So yeah! I'm excited about that! Only downside is that there was a bit of a mishap and I couldn't find the cover I made for issue number one, so I had to use the cover I had made for my personal ANTHOLOGY number one! Whoops! That means you get a cover from when I wasn't as good of an artist, and it also has a poor colored pencil coloring job haha! The good news is that if I find the other cover I can just replace it. The main...*snicker* issue I'm dealing with is that the cover says "#1: Reagan's Aces" when that was going to be the collected edition's name. The actual first issue was to be called "The Beginning", because, well, that's what it is. You guys will know all this now though, so that's good. c:
I'm fairly happy with the coloring, except that on the main computer I use for the site, the coloring of Rowan's skin is off! It gives him a very orange-y tone, which isn't exactly what I was going for...I wanted more of a tanned look, not OH LOOK IT'S MR. TANGERINE! Oh well. I'll try and correct that in future pages.
Please keep in mind that future pages will not be rendered (have as of detailed coloring) as the first page. That page took me about two weeks to finish, so...yeah, that's not really doable for all 22 pages. Now, I drew my coloring out and didn't just sit down for a few hours at a time to work, otherwise it probably would have only taken a couple days of working. My life does not give me time to do that usually, heh.
Oh, hey, you guys can see the Aces banner I finished like, two months ago now! What do you think? I think the coloring is kind of outdated now. I have a different technique at this point! I probably won't change it for a long while though, as if I change the banner coloring every time I change coloring styles, that thing will be changing every week! As an artist, my vision--and style--is constantly changing, and you may notice that throughout the different pages of Aces. I hope it doesn't bother anyone too bad, and I hope you can look past the writing and art errors in the comic as well. Enjoy it, please! **desperate**
If anyone has any questions, feel free to send them through the contact tab or email at email@example.com ! I always love hearing from you guys!
